A Personal Story of Motivation…

“I was a sick kid. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s after years of being told my symptoms were fictitious or self-imposed. Even after I was diagnosed I spent another 10 years being told I was fine while experiencing chronic pain, fatigue and anxiety. The medications were making my bloodwork look good, but I was definitely not well.

I finally saw a naturopath and for the first time, I felt truly seen by a practitioner.

The naturopath gave me…. magnesium. Yep, it was that tiny step that started me on the trajectory to better health. The step that saw me come off medications, started me towards studying naturopathy and motivated me to make changes to my diet. Let’s be honest, she did much more than just give me magnesium, but it still baffles me to this day how my doctors had never thought to suggest this simple mineral when it made so much sense.

Magnesium was my 20% effort for 80% improvement. I talk about this in practice with my patients – what can you do that takes the least effort but will give you the greatest outcome? This can be especially important in the early days of understanding your health. Is there ONE thing you could change that will give you the leg up you need to help you make other changes?”
