Breakthrough functional medicine tests now provide practitioners with the necessary tools to optimise patient outcomes through personalised treatment strategies. Comprehensive test reports with graphic markers support a thorough understanding of patient health dynamics.
Gain deeper insights on how to guide patients who are looking to achieve optimal health, as well as those who have been chronically ill and frustrated without a diagnosis for years.
Take the confusion out of Functional Testing in clinical practice by looking at the broader picture, rather than every individual analyte.
Learn how Functional testing such as GI MAP and OMX are the basis of investigating all chronic diseases and how implementing these tests can revolutionise your practice and improve patient outcomes. Oscar will share his clinical wisdom and case studies too.
Join Dr Oscar Coetzee as he draws on his own clinical expertise and shares detailed insights into diagnostics and treatment options based on FX Testing.
7:00 pm – 8:10 pm – Intro and presentation from Dr Coetzee
8:10 pm – 8:30 pm – Live Q&A discussion moderated by Lea McIntyre

Personalised medicine, often referred to as precision medicine, represents a significant shift in healthcare models, focusing on individualised treatment tailored to the unique needs of each patient. Traditional medicine often employs a standardised approach based on broad patient populations, resulting in variable treatment outcomes due to the inherent differences among patients.
The personalised medicine approach recognises that patients are unique and require individualised care, which is achieved through comprehensive and targeted functional testing. These tests allow practitioners to account for factors such as antibiotic resistance genes, virulence factors, and genomic information, leading to more precise and effective treatment plans.
The successful implementation of personalised medicine hinges on the ability to obtain accurate and insightful information about each patient.
Laboratory testing plays a crucial role in identifying the root causes of symptoms and understanding the patient’s unique metabolic signature and genetic makeup. This information enables healthcare practitioners to comprehensively understand causative factors and relevant predispositions that impact short and long-term health.
Motivated by his desire to reverse the chronic illness epidemic, Dr Coetzee continues to be a pioneer in the field of nutritional science.
Born and raised in South Africa, where he completed his military schooling and earned bachelor’s degrees in criminology and psychology, Dr Coetzee also earned a masters degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport (USA).
He went on to receive a PhD in holistic nutrition from Clayton College of New Hampshire (USA), and a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition (DCN). Dr Coetzee finished his second doctorate from Maryland University of Integrative Health, with a specialisation in nutrigenomics.
His key areas of interest are chronic inflammatory diseases, metabolic syndrome, intestinal permeability, type 2 diabetes and sports performance.
