Motivated by his desire to reverse the chronic illness epidemic, Dr Coetzee continues to be a pioneer in the field of nutritional science.
Born and raised in South Africa, where he completed his military schooling and earned bachelor’s degrees in criminology and psychology, Dr Coetzee also earned a masters degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport (USA).
He went on to receive a PhD in holistic nutrition from Clayton College of New Hampshire (USA), and a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition (DCN). Dr Coetzee finished his second doctorate from Maryland University of Integrative Health, with a specialisation in nutrigenomics.
His key areas of interest are chronic inflammatory diseases, metabolic syndrome, intestinal permeability, type 2 diabetes and sports performance.

Antigone Kouris has over 30 years experience as a clinical Dietitian, researcher, author and more recently food product developer.
Her pioneering PhD was the first study to show in the 1990s that adherence to a Mediterranean Diet Pattern (MDP) in old age conferred longevity. Her research team at the time was also the first to develop a validated MDP score, enabling many researchers around the world to study the health benefits of the MDP, contributing to the huge body of evidence surrounding this diet.
