Many patients suffer from constipation… mostly in silence. Quick fixes such as laxatives can be detrimental to a patient’s health and can mask what may be a bigger problem at hand. Avoiding the long-term consequences of not treating constipation effectively can be harmful, with chronic diseases occurring more frequently.
Lynda draws on her clinical expertise and research to share detailed insights into diagnostics and treatment options.
Lynda, the self-professed ‘poo whisperer’, takes you on a deep-dive poo journey…
Lynda is a big fan of encouraging daily, satisfying bowel movements simply because constipation is a “symptom” commonly neglected by patients. It often has a serious driver that warrants thorough detective work.
Lynda shares her down-to-earth style of patient communication that makes ‘poo talk’ an essential component of clinical practice. Hear how Lynda guides her patients beyond the attitude of “she’ll be right, mate; all will come good in a few days”. And why she feels compelled to say, “don’t let a colon full of poo marinate for too long.”
Lynda also details recommended functional tests for an accurate diagnosis, the best dietary approaches to recommend, and the prescribing recommendations to consider.
