GI-MAP® with StoolOMX™ | All-in-One Stool Test

GI-MAP® with StoolOMX™ is a next-generation, all-in-one stool test that combines advanced microbial DNA analysis with cutting-edge metabolomic profiling —
Offering healthcare practitioners an unparalleled view into both the composition and functional output of the gut microbiome.

🧪 Bile Acids: Metabolic and Immune Modulators

Bile acids are not only essential for digesting fats — they’re also key regulators of inflammation, intestinal barrier integrity, microbiome balance, and metabolic health.

Why test bile acids?

  • Evaluate liver and gallbladder function, including bile production and reabsorption
  • Identify bile acid malabsorption (BAM), common in IBS-D and post-cholecystectomy
  • Detect gut barrier stress due to high primary bile acids
  • Assess microbial conversion capacity via secondary bile acid production
  • Use LCA:DCA ratio to assess inflammation and cancer risk potential

An altered bile acid profile can contribute to symptoms such as diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, inflammation, and metabolic dysregulation.

By measuring both bile acids and SCFAs together with microbial qPCR, GI-MAP® with StoolOMX™ gives you a truly functional overview of digestive health, metabolic risk, inflammation, and microbiome resilience — all from one stool sample.

🧪 Short Chain Fatty Acids (SCFAs): Microbial Metabolites that Heal

SCFAs are the by-products of fibre fermentation by gut bacteria — especially acetate, propionate, and butyrate — and they provide crucial benefits to the host.

Why test SCFAs?

  • Measure the gut’s ability to convert fibre into anti-inflammatory metabolites
  • Identify low butyrate production, linked to poor gut barrier function, IBD, and low-grade inflammation.
  • Detect imbalanced fermentation, such as excessive branched-chain fatty acids (BCFAs) from protein putrefaction.
  • Use the SCFA/BCFA ratio to evaluate overall microbial balance and dietary influence.

Low SCFA levels are associated with IBS, IBD, obesity, metabolic dysfunction, and poor motility. Elevated BCFAs can indicate a pro-inflammatory, protein-heavy diet and weak digestion.

Designs for Health Education

I really enjoy your webinars. The presenters are engaging and concise, presenting information pertinent to the clinician setting rather than emphasising research facts is welcome. Personal stories also provide an authentic connection. Thank you

I really enjoyed the webinar on Autoimmunity. The simplicity of the treatment protocols and the results were mind-blowing! The research studies to back up treatment protocols are great resources too.

The DFH education and webinars are awesome. I have learnt so much, thank you.
