Motivated by his desire to reverse the chronic illness epidemic, Dr Coetzee continues to be a pioneer in the field of nutritional science.
Born and raised in South Africa, where he completed his military schooling and earned bachelor’s degrees in criminology and psychology, Dr Coetzee also earned a masters degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport (USA).
He went on to receive a PhD in holistic nutrition from Clayton College of New Hampshire (USA), and a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition (DCN). Dr Coetzee finished his second doctorate from Maryland University of Integrative Health, with a specialisation in nutrigenomics.
His key areas of interest are chronic inflammatory diseases, metabolic syndrome, intestinal permeability, type 2 diabetes and sports performance.
Insulin and blood glucose management challenges are now increasingly common in patients. Blood lipids and liver health are also highly relevant factors for many patients, including those with NAFLD.
Practitioners can benefit from the latest clinical experience and research into Berberine to have more diagnosing and prescribing resources.

Leonie Gascoigne is Victorian State Business Manager and Health Educator at Designs for Health Australia.
Leonie is an experienced naturopathic practitioner, yoga instructor and technical sales consultant. She has been actively involved in the pharmaceutical, complementary medicine, functional medicine, health wellness and fitness industries.
Leonie provides direct support for practitioners – and frequently provides guidance on GI-Map Test reports.
Antigone Kouris has over 30 years experience as a clinical Dietitian, researcher, author and more recently food product developer.
Her pioneering PhD was the first study to show in the 1990s that adherence to a Mediterranean Diet Pattern (MDP) in old age conferred longevity. Her research team at the time was also the first to develop a validated MDP score, enabling many researchers around the world to study the health benefits of the MDP, contributing to the huge body of evidence surrounding this diet.
Rocco Di Vincenzo is a Consultant Dietitian who has a strong integrative functional nutritional and environmental medicine focus in his private practice and has formal qualifications in this area.
Rocco’s focus is on multidisciplinary, holistic, individually tailored, patient-centred nutrition intervention programs and the justifiable, evidence-based, systematic, strategic, goal-oriented use of pharmaceutical-grade, practitioner only nutraceuticals to work in conjunction with GP/Specialist prescribed pharmaceuticals as a treatment adjunct in helping treat the root cause of disease and alleviation of patient symptomatology.
