Discover Georgie Collinson’s Clinical Approach to Assessing and Prescribing for Anxiety

Move beyond the generic nutrient checklist and build the clinical reasoning to assess an anxiety case properly, prioritise the real drivers, and prescribe with confidence from the very first session.

Anxiety is showing up in clinic more than ever, and rarely as a tidy, single-cause presentation. A client arrives with a tangle of gut symptoms, poor sleep, hormonal shifts, and a nervous system stuck in overdrive, and it is not always obvious where to start. Reach for a standard anxiety nutrient stack and you can end up treating everything at once and shifting very little.

The difference between a protocol that stalls and one that works is rarely the supplement list. It is the clinical reasoning behind it: what you listen for in the first consult, how you read the drivers underneath the presentation, and how you decide what to treat first when several are in play at once.

In this 90-minute deep dive, naturopath and anxiety specialist Georgie Collinson walks you through how she approaches an anxiety case from the first session: what to listen for during the consult, how to assess the key drivers (HPA axis, gut health, sleep, hormones, methylation, and nutrient status), and how to move from assessment into a prioritised, well-reasoned treatment plan. This is the clinical thinking behind the prescribing, not a generic nutrient overview.

FREE WEBINAR With Georgie Collinson

Tuesday, 28th July 2026, 7:00 – 8:30 pm AEST

Designs for Health Australia is proud to present the Clinical Education Series, dedicated to supporting natural health professionals in gaining expertise, deepening clinical experience, and delivering quality patient outcomes.

This deep-dive webinar has been designed for the practitioner who wants a clearer, more confident way to assess anxiety presentations and to prescribe with clinical reasoning rather than a one-size- fits-all protocol.

By the end of this webinar, you’ll be able to:

Understand why anxiety presentations have surged, and what the recent data tells us about the scale of what you are seeing in clinic.

Assess the key drivers behind every anxiety case, including the HPA axis, gut health, sleep, hormones, methylation, and nutrient status.

Run an anxiety consultation with clear clinical reasoning, knowing the questions to ask yourself as you move from history to working picture.

Prescribe with rationale, choosing nutritional and supplement interventions because of why they fit the case, not by default.

Prioritise when several drivers are present at once, with a clear sense of what to treat first.

Recognise when emotional and lifestyle factors are stalling progress, and learn how to open that conversation with your client.

🎯 The Goal? Walk away able to take an anxiety case from the first consult to a prioritised, well-reasoned treatment plan, with the clinical confidence to know not just what to prescribe, but why and in what order.

By the end of this webinar, you’ll be able to:

  • A repeatable assessment framework, you can apply from your very next anxiety consult.
  • Clarity on which key nutrients and supplements, to consider at each stage of the clinical picture.
  • More confidence with complex anxiety cases, without getting overwhelmed by the layers.
  • A working grasp of the most effective testing and functional frameworks, to use in practice.

Why Anxiety Cases Are So Hard to Treat Well

Challenge #1: The Single-Cause Trap. Anxiety is often met with a standard calming nutrient stack, but most cases are driven by several systems at once. Treat it as one problem and the results tend to disappoint.

Challenge #2: Too Many Drivers, No Order. HPA axis, gut, sleep, hormones, methylation, nutrient status: when several are contributing at once, the hard part is not spotting them, it is knowing which to treat first.

Challenge #3: Prescribing Without the Reasoning. A protocol built from a generic anxiety template, rather than from what this client’s consult actually revealed, often misses the driver that matters most.

Challenge #4: The Factors No Supplement Fixes. Sometimes emotional and lifestyle factors are quietly holding back clinical progress, and the protocol stalls until that conversation is had.

🎯 The Clinical Reality: Anxiety cases are not unresponsive. They are multi-driver presentations that need clinical reasoning, not a bigger supplement list. Once you can assess the drivers and prioritise them, the plan, and the progress, follow.

Read the Case Before You Prescribe

Learn what Georgie listens for from the first session: the questions she asks herself through the consult, how she reads the key drivers behind an anxiety presentation, from HPA axis and gut health to sleep, hormones, and methylation, and the testing and functional frameworks that bring the picture into focus. This is how assessment becomes a treatment plan, rather than a guess.

Prescribe With Rationale, and in the Right Order

Explore the thinking behind the prescribing: which nutritional and supplement interventions to reach for and why, and how to prioritise when several drivers are present at once. Drawing on a decade of clinical experience, Georgie shows how to decide what to tackle first.

I really enjoyed the webinar on Autoimmunity. The simplicity of the treatment protocols and the results were mind-blowing! The research studies to back up treatment protocols are great resources too.
